Stakeholders of Miss Surulere beauty pageant in the maiden
edition of the Miss Surulere beauty pageant have auditioned 50 contestants starting from 28th- till 30th July- 2026, in the ongoing project which is meant to
last for three months-from July to September 2026, hosted by the department of
Tourism and culture of the local government council. The up-guided attempt put
together by the officers of the department of Tourism and Culture is an open
door opportunity, a competitive scale in the faces of the youth of the
constituency. Surulere According to the remark stated by the Executive Vice Chairman of the local government council, Dosumu Muiz Adewale Oladimeji, said
As it is well known that Surulere is the hub of entertainment, we believe, we need to catch them young, we need to imbibe the interest to come into showbiz, into our people where we need to encourage them to go on a bigger platform, into modeling, Acting. Here they are expose to a lot of facilities made available to scale. In this local government we believe in all inclusive government where everybody is given part to play, where everyone is given an opportunity to showcase the talent they have, and we believe we have a lot of talent right here, because most of what are happening in Nigeria mostly get to start from
Surulere instance in sport, infrastructure, education, he maintained that every best of the best are from Surulere so the Surulere beauty pageant has come to stay and will subsequently continue year by year and this maiden edition will be memorable….
The 50 benefitting contestants were arranged to have scholarships, modeling and ambassadorial slot and automatic participation in the local council’s entire future event.
For this pageant, the winner is slated to go home with one million five hundred thousand Naira with other gifts. Miss Victoria Oluwafemi Odejimi, a sociology student of the University of Olabisi Onabanjo, Ago-Iwoye Ogun state, a contestants says if she is made theBeyond opportunity, this project enhance visibility, community engagement and volunteerism, Honorable Odofin Fuad, the Special Adviser to the senior officer of tourism and culture department said the link between Miss Surulere and Miss Nigeria is that Miss Surulere is the foundation to build the contestants confidence so to be self-independent and
